Getting ready for a beach getaway the lazy way : Days 11 and 12 Blog

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a nice weekend. Mine consisted of catching up on work for my online creative writing class and spending much-needed time with my boyfriend. I am writing a mystery novel. I am still working on my outline, which is a long process because it involves crafting a mystery with clues and false leads and an investigation. I found this incredible mystery writing course online that is helping me structure my story step by step.

I enjoyed about three glasses of red wine throughout the weekend.

Here are the weekend eats:

I had a killer leg workout on Saturday and this food was consumed before and after. I did

3 sets of squats with heavy weights x 12

3 sets of sumo squats with light weights x 20

3 sets of the leg press machine with heavy weights x 10

3 sets of glute bridges with added weight x 20 with a 30 second isometric hold after the last rep

3 sets of the adductor machine x 20

Date night followed! We went to L’Entrecôte St-Jean, a no-frills steak place with only two options on the menu.

I had the table d’hôte. I started with ONE piece of un-pictured baguette (while my bf devoured two baskets, lucky men and their metabolisms).

I ate about 3/4 of my steak and half of the fries. And every last bit of the profiteroles!

Sunday started with plain oatmeal made with unsweetened almond milk, banana, a bit of maple syrup and a spoonful of all-natural peanut butter.

I walked my dog Roxy for half an hour and had breakfast number 2 aka lunch.

If my eggs have a strange colour it’s because I cooked them in olive oil. I do that sometimes.

Snacks were consumed. I am so glad the crack Nature’s Path coconut, pineapple and white chocolate granola is almost done so that I can stop eating it non-stop.

Early dinner. Shish taouk sandwich and a shared plate of garlic potatoes.

We took the dogs for another hour walk, so I ended up walking an hour and a half on Sunday.

I wrapped up the evening with another snack, a glass of red wine and a good novel. I am trying to get inspired by reading a lot of mystery books and gritty stories. Cartwheel is loosely inspired by the real-life story of Amanda Knox, the American young woman who was accused of murdering her roommate while they were on a student exchange trip in Italy.

Here is the weekly recap of my workouts. I am stepping the intensity and frequency of my workouts up a notch so that I can feel a difference by the time I get to the beach (CAN’T WAIT). I am also squeezing in long walks whenever I can because exercise is exercise and every bit counts!

Monday: one hour walk

Tuesday: leg workout

Wednesday: off

Thursday: one hour of boxing and conditioning, one hour and a half of belly dancing class

Friday: off

Saturday: leg workout

Sunday: one hour and a half of walking

See you tonight!
